Kirk & Heather | Engaged

We were pretty much jumping-up-and-down happy when we heard our friend Kirk was planning to propose to his girlfriend, and we were even more excited when we found out he wanted us to be a part of it. We had the first-ever honor to hide in cars/bushes/snow drifts to document the proposal. The question, the "yes!", and the putting-on of the (stunning!) diamond were followed by pizza and snowball fights.

Portland finally gave us a beautiful (but still FRIGID) day for their engagement photos. We went downtown, snuck into a hotel to thaw out and get some shots (photos, not alcohol) and then finished at the beautiful Hoyt Arboretum. Kirk & Heather nailed it, even the making-out-against-the-wall-with-people-around.

Peter Mahar - Destination Wedding Photographer - Portland OR
Peter Mahar
I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
