Tami has three beautiful kids, and so does Carlos — together, they’ve blended into one big family. It’s been a long and winding journey for them to reach this day, and it was an honor for me to be there to capture it all.

Tami had the fun idea of renting a limo the day before the actual wedding ceremony to take the kids on an adventure up in the Gorge. We used that time to capture all the formal photos—always love a chance to leave the wedding day to-do-list free and more relaxed! Plus, love that they brought a football and got to just enjoy being together before the wedding.

For only having a couple of months to plan, Tami and Carlos pulled off something really special, with so many creative ways to include and honor their kids as such an essential part of their life.

I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
