Charlie & Eva | Mt. Hood Organic Farms
One of my favorite venues to photograph is Mt. Hood Organic Farms, and it’s not just because it’s so beautiful, although that certainly helps. It’s that they are so good at throwing fun parties. They have a more structured timeline compared to other venues, which you might think is rigid (what if we want to do something else?). But leave the celebrations to the professionals; every wedding I’ve photographed here has been among the most fun I’ve witnessed. The guests are led into the very angelic ceremony setting, where they’re given umbrellas for the sun and get to watch their friends get married under Mt. Hood. Afterward, everyone is brought to the very open, perfectly shaded cocktail hour, where they’re met with delicious farm-fresh appetizers and custom cocktails—one of the best cocktail hours to be a part of. From there, everyone is led to the main open field outside the reception hall, where they gather for one large group photo under Mt. Hood—a great parting gift for the friends and family who attended. Then, it’s the amazing family-style meal, which allows everyone to get food at the same time and enjoy fellowship together. After people’s bellies are full and their hearts are merry with wine, they do a few toasts, cut the cake, and start dancing. The rest of the evening is spent watching an incredible sunset over Mt. Hood, amazing stargazing, flowing drinks, and more dancing whenever you feel like heading back inside. As an observer at heart, I notice the guests stay the longest and have the most smiles at Mt. Hood Organic Farms. Oh and there is a school bus that comes and takes you back to your hotel after so you don’t have to drive ;)
