Colin + Emma | Wy’East Vineyards

Emma & Colin are both from Australia, but have family in Washington and headed to the Hood River area for their wedding. We have been lucky enough to get to photograph several weddings now from this true treasure trove of a family/friend-group. Reuben & Martha, Brook & Sunitha, and Wes & Wells are all couples from the last few years who we’ve been honored to photograph. Each wedding has been completely unique, but so grounded in deep relationships, with creative, adventurous people coming together to create a relaxed and delightful party. There were so many familiar faces to spot throughout the day! It’s amazing how well we get to know faces after photographing, editing, printing, and delivering sets of weddings photos.

They did such a great job not forcing things that weren’t their thing: no bridal party, just cutting the cake but not feeding each other, and choosing to do a post-wedding portrait session at the mountain instead of a longer portrait time on their wedding day. This freed the up to enjoy just being present with their guests, and it was a joy to see.

Peter Mahar - Destination Wedding Photographer - Portland OR
Peter Mahar
I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
