Shane & Adrienne | Elk Rock Island Engagement

This particular evening was different than normal ones. The light from the setting sun was setting was so warm, it almost looked like there was a forest fire. Shane and Adrienne were running late which is normally a bad thing, but I think I discovered something because of it. The hour after "golden hour" is amazing hour. We only had about 20-30 minutes of sun before it was completely set, but the afterglow of this particular evening made for some amazing light. I will post some of the RAW pictures I took to show you how low I was exposing the pictures.

Anyway, we just kept taking pictures and then near the end Adrienne asked if we could take a few pictures with just their feet in the water. Naturally, after a few minutes, I was able to convince them to fully submerge themselves in the water. I still can't believe they did it, but so happy they did!

Peter Mahar - Destination Wedding Photographer - Portland OR
Peter Mahar
I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
