Carls Barber Shop

If you ever venture to South Florida, or are even there right now, there is one place that is a must see. Roll up your sleeves, slick back your hair and step back 40 years and get a real feel for what life was like at an old fashioned barber shop. When I first walked into Carl's Barber Shop, the first thing that hit me was the smell. Fresh cut hair, newly applied after shave, and a whiff of pure relaxation. I really had traveled back in time. Even the look of the barbers themselves are authentic as can be. Getting a hair cut there for the first time was like saying good bye to all your current troubles. Great conversation, ease of hands, and a nice warm towel for the cherry on top. Carl certainly knows what he is doing. Business couldn't be any better. If people don't go their for the authentic barber shop atmosphere, they will certainly be going back to visit the staff. With the occasional joke, or friendly hello, to the warm break out of a dance to put your worries aside.

Come on in, the towels are warm, the people are genuine, and your hair cut couldn't get any sharper. Cheers, Peter M.

Peter Mahar
I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
