latourell falls proposal
Thinking about proposal location ideas but can’t find the right spot? Sometimes, the perfect spot depends on the time of year and time of day. Take Latourell Falls for example. This stunning location is just a five-minute walk from the parking lot, with bathrooms available at the trailhead. It’s such an easy hike that most visitors come to admire the falls briefly before leaving. The main downside of Latourell Falls is that weekends after 9 a.m. can get crowded. If it’s not summertime, you’re usually fine any time of day, but arriving around 7–8 a.m. on a weekend ensures easy parking and minimal crowds. You’ll also catch the best light for proposal photos. Around 9am-12ish the upper part of the falls is in full sun it’s not great if you want photos of the whole falls.
For this proposal, Jude contacted me about a week in advance to share his plans. We decided to start at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday in July. I arrived early, posing as a tourist, and trailed behind them by about 20 feet once they arrived. Cynthia was so captivated by the scenery that she never noticed me. When they reached the spot, Jude asked me to take a photo of them with his cell phone, as if I were just a passerby. My cue was to ask them to turn and face the falls for a shot. That’s when he got down on one knee, and I switched to my camera to capture the moment. Afterward, we spent the rest of our time enjoying the falls.
