Phanes | At-Home Family Session
These are my At Home Family sessions. Nothing is more intimate and beautiful than doing a family session in your home. I love these sessions because they’re so much more journalistic and I get way more intimate moments. We focus a lot more on whatever happens, with no rigid agenda so that we can be more flexible with the kids. Most of the time, for your stereotypical family sessions, everyone stresses out figuring out what to wear, then photo time comes and the kids last all of a few minutes, and it’s just not an overall fun time for the kids. I love photographing this way instead so much because the kids get used to me just being around taking photos and start to ignore me and truly show off their personalities. Then near the end of our time, when everyone is feeling cozy and comfortable, I do some squishy group shot and we get some truly special moments that will have way more value over the years than those forced family photos we see all the time.
Getting to photograph these four (including new baby) last week was an honor.
