What a perfectly fall wedding for Kenon & Lauren. Matching their colors and decor, September obliged with a cool, drizzly (and occasionally downpouring) day. The rain never ruined anything, just brought the energy! And a rainbow.

This was the first wedding Peter and I have gotten to photograph together in over a year! Kenon and Lauren got married on our anniversary, so it was especially fun to get to work as a team again. (Shoutout to grandparents for the first all-day-watching-five-boys!).

We’ve photographed weddings out in the beautiful countryside in the Hillsboro area before (oddly, usually when the hills and fields are complimented by a rainy day), but this was the first wedding at Oakwood Gardens Estate. Truly stunning venue—alpaca farm plus dreamy gardens, a waterfall, a pond, and a lot of hills and beautiful views. A perfect blend of rustic and fancy.

I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
