David and Christine

These guys were so awesome.  They trusted me from start to finished and did all the silly faces and expressions I make most my people do. My hope in getting silly is that people can remember, photography and even life for that matter, shouldn't be so serious  We should be joyful about life, and I want to capture that joy. So I have learned the best way to do that is help them remember we are there to have fun, not get serious staged pictures, but happy moments that showcase joy ;)

While I have much to learn, I hope I continue to stay on that brand march of capturing peoples joy. I am so fortunate to work with awesome couples all the time that let me into their lives and trust me to show others just a little bit of their joy.

And yes I said joy one too many times...

Romans 15:13 "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope."

Peter Mahar
I'm Peter Mahar, a professional wedding photographer based in Portland, Oregon. I grew up the youngest in crazy family of six--which was great, because I got to make my brothers and sisters laugh, and not-so-great, because I had to sit in the back of the van on the seat with the stupid bump in the cushion. I make pizza and talk a lot. I'm part Italian, so I use a lot of gestures (especially during photo shoots). I love deep conversations, a good fire, and a glass of wine. But most of all, I love Jesus, because He's great and I'm not.
