Tyler and Melissa Newborn Shoot | Portland

Did you know after I shot my first wedding I told myself I would never shoot another wedding after that? I hated it and it was a terrible overall experaince. Most new things I try I have the same reaction. Mostly I have no confidence and I am relying too much on doing exactly what the person wants that I don’t feel like I am bringing anything to the table. Now I shoot weddings full time (well I did before the whole world shut down ;).

I had a very similar experience with newborn photos. When I am given creative control and am able to just dwell and document it’s amazing. The last few newborn sessions I have done have been with couples I got to shoot their wedding which is an extra bonus plus I get to do them in their new homes. It is such an amazing time of firsts. The first baby, the first times feeding, the first times changing diapers, clothes, first kisses. It’s rich with moments and it’s amazing when I am set free to capture them. If you want me to do traditional posed baby pictures with the photos crazy airbrushed I am not your guy. However if you want some of your precious first moments captured (like first big poops) then please give me a call. 360.771.4693

This is where a back rub turned into a beautiful boy.

Proof that dad is also not getting any sleep.

The process is real man. If you are a parent you know this scene all too well.

Even though the parents could smell something happened, they were still very surprised by what they found under the hood. OR WE COULD write this: Father left confidently goes in to wipe his suns butt (bottom) as the mother (top right) is shocked by the whole shitty mess.

If you look closely at the carpet you will see a treat. I purposely did not photoshop it out because as you see in the next photo it was an eventful time including the very beloved dog.

In case you are wondering I have actually been adoring adding beloved anamals to the mix. They always add awesome moments and memories to the mix. And they are loved too.

The beloved animals however don’t always like it…as seen in these two photos.
