The Mundane Life In a Pizza Joint -Part One-

I am a born and raised Oregonian. Grew up in a small farmhouse, learning to make do with two sisters, three brothers, five acres of land, four-wheelers, horses, cats, and Legos. It was a great childhood, full of adventures and full of great stories. After “growing up”, working in greenhouses, a cabinet shop, and starting my photography business I decided it was time to move. So I did. 3836miles to be exact, to Weston, FL., a town just a few miles west of Miami. - USA tour

It was July 9th when I officially arrived to the hot, muggy, alligator infested everglades they call Florida. I was 18, full of life and looking for adventure. To start this quest I needed a job, so I looked around, applied to a couple dozen places and the one place I didn’t have any excitement of working, happened to call me back. I consider myself lucky, after two weeks of looking for a job I got hired on by the Pizza Joint as a delivery driver.

- Now don’t get me wrong, I like pizza, and even making pizzas, the idea of working at a Pizza Joint did interest me, however the only opening they had at the moment was for a diver. Just a side note, it was July 28th (the real hot time in Florida), my AC had just broke, and I was going to be delivering stacks of 489 degreed pizza’s in the sweltering hot sun. What made it worse was that it was a black car. So “feel the burn”. The good news was I found a new “weight loss” program. It’s called sweating it out. In just one month of living in South Florida I had lost 15lb.

Anyway I was a natural. Quickly learning all the tasks of the driver, I started to branch out, learning to toss dough, ring customers up, deal with small issues, and in just two short weeks was asked if I would like to be a manager. So I was trained and after my third week working there I was officially a Manager. Now I am not saying this to ruff up my feathers, blow up my head, or show how amazing I am. Even though I am known to do all that, this is simply an outline so you can better follow where I have gone, and get the true essence of the stories working there. The following stories that I am going to share with you are inside looks into the life in a pizza joint.
